World Diabetes Day 2024

One of the lesser-known complications of diabetes is diabetic neuropathy. This condition, resulting from prolonged high blood sugar levels, affects the peripheral nerves and can lead to pain, numbness, and other debilitating symptoms. As we observe World Diabetes Day together with others globally, let’s talk about how we can improve the lives of those affected.
Armed with a background in neuro-engineering, Greta Preatoni is the project leader and co-founder of MYNERVA. Her team is developing an innovative neuro-stimulating medical device to reduce chronic pain and to restore the sense of touch in patients suffering from diabetic neuropathy.
With the project currently accelerating at Wyss Zurich, we spoke to her to learn more about the impact that MYNERVA aims to make for the diabetes community, healthcare and for our society.
